5 Stars Wonderful Documentary
This is a great documentary on Ayurveda, and you can tell that a lot of effort has been taken in creating this movie.

5 Stars The art of treating…
It is really an eye opener for western medicine into prevention and time proven wisdom…we have so much to learn from Indian culture!
5 Stars SO much lost information about being in tune with nature instead of against it
I also enjoyed this DVD. It is set mostly in India with some footage from Western Doctors who also practice Ayurveda to do the studies in Greece. They really check all signs in patients like Chinese medicine. Most of the DVD had subtitles to help you when the accent was thick or when they didn’t speak English to help. The shots of the landscape was beautiful & pulls you into going back to embrace it. The simplicity & less stress in the villages lifestyle was inspiring. Yes, indoor plumbing & washing of hands with natural soap is one of the great realizations of modern medicine, but not much else has help except in some ways for trauma.
In the DVD, a long time Indian Doctor even eats mercury before your eyes after using a mixture he makes to neutrilize it’s toxicity so it doens’t kill him. He says doctors ALWAYS tries their formulas on THEMSELVES, not animals or patients to make sure it works fast.
There are many testimonies from people who have been cured of cancer for 14 years & still going, 80% blindness from diabetes as been reduced to only moderate seeing dificulty like most people who just need glasses, etc. He was very charming with a great sense of humor. He says anything can be cured, he has studied western medicine to understand more, but cannot undrstand why western teach that the body cannot be healed.
Such that blindness which according to western medicine by a leak of blood in the tiny blood vessels in the retina is treated with lasers to plug to hole. But they never adddress the reason for the leak. It will just keep happening. Ayurveda & also Chinese medicine address WHY the blood vessels are weak in the first place & what foods to eat & not eat to strengthen them again.
I know a man in his 50s who has hypertention & on heart medications who still eats processed foods. He has blood spots in his feet. It is the cappilaries leaking blood in his feet from weakness. When he went on a diet, not reducing sugar or fats or meats, but just reducing artificial ingredients, the blood spots faded & disapeared. When he slipped again, they returned… so he has stayed off artificial so he never has to see them again. He also of course, report increase in energy, better sleeping, more positive outlook on life, better ability to concentrate & work, etc. All because the aritificial ingredients aren’t there to stress his body out, taking what daily energy it can to keep the body from getting cancer or tumors or dying that day.
There’s no such thing as an eye tick meaning nothing, every mole, every wrinkle, even little blood vessel you see as an imperfection is a sign your body is telling you that it is being stressed out by the foods you eat, your sleeping habits, alcohol you overconsume to be social, etc. No one listens in the west especially doctors until you are at death’s door. Drugs only treat the outside symptoms, such as sneezing from a flu instead of the toxins itself or to increase your own body’s ability to fight it off faster. Even OTC drugs for coughing has been proven in studies to not reduce the amount of coughing, parents said there was less, but was proven taht it was exactly the same. The same for antibotics for earaches, it does not speed healing at all studies have shown. What causes earaches is too rich a diet in deserts, dairy & processed foods most times.
5 Stars A key to life
I’m not going back to any traditional physician again after watching this dvd… It’s really unfair that so many people is suffering and they don’t know about this antique science that can heal almost anything in a natural way…
5 Stars Makes clear that Allopathic Medicine is not holy…
There is so much more to HEALING, than being treated by doctors who look at symptoms and who prescribe farmaceutical drugs that do more harm than good.
Being a rheumatic patient, and having used the most horrifying drugs for over 10 years(I was even given a chemocure for a year! LEDERTREXATE), I decided to QUIT, because there was NO improvement whatsoever, on the contrary. The doctors declared me totally irresponsible. I couldn’t walk one step without 2 crutches and they predicted I would soon end up in a wheelchair. Well… after having started alternative medicine, like acupuncture, kinesiology EFT, immunics, PLUS vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants, supplements and a grain-free-diet, 5 Tibetan Rites (Yoga), my condition has improved significantly. Less pain, inflammation reduction. Immune system has improved. I sometimes need 1 crutch. Most days I can even do without. Who said that natural healing is NOT possible.
This movie shows beautifully that alternative medicine is capable to heal serious and also chronic diseases, without chemical drugs with its burdening and harming side-effects or even an operation.
Allopathic medicine is too involved in curing symptoms and doctors are totally focused on the disease. We desperately need other and better ways of healing.
Don’t hesitate to consult your M.D. when you’re ill, but don’t swallow everything they say or prescribe… Use your brain and intuition as well.

5 Stars Cure for Cancer
This film should have been subtitled “A cure for cancer?” - i only wish I had seen this film when my friend was dying from a tumor and from the AMA treatment of it. This is a really powerful film with great science and information in it. I’m buying one for my doctor today.
5 Stars The difference between light and absence of light
The amazing part of “The Knowledge of Healing” is when the scientist says that he saw waves of light from the tibetan herbs. This video should be given as a gift for everyone in the health fild, because it shows, scientifically, that the herbs are the way of healing. Jose Joacir dos Santo, O.M.D.
5 Stars Empowering
An unexpected, informative, and charming film. These are gifted and inspiring teachers and healers, from a long and profound tradition. And the film does them justice.
Flipper
March 31, 2009 by New Age Healing · Leave a Comment

Many kids might say their best friend is a puppy or a pony. But for 12-year-old Sandy, the most special pet of all is the exuberant dolphin he rescues and who returns the favor by rescuing Sandy from sharks.
The dolphin named Flipper first swam into the world’s minds and hearts in this 1963 film starring Chuck Connors and Luke Halpin as Sandy (a role he would continue in the 1964-68 TV series that followed.) James B. Clark, a long-time family filmmaker whose credits include “Island of the Blue Dolphins” and “My Side of the Mountain,” directs the story of hard times (Hurricane Hazel and its aftermath) and joy (Sandy’s dolphin-powered rides through the waves). And two fins up for Mitzie, the animal star who plays flipper.

5 Stars Flipper starring Chuck Conners
I watched this movie when I was a kid,And to this day it is a really good movie.
3 Stars The Introduction to the Hero of the Sea
Sandy Ricks (Luke Halpin) is the son of a fisherman living in the Florida Keys. When a hurricane hits their island, Porter Rick’s (Chuck Connors) book is destroyed and he must head to the mainland to get it fixed.
Sandy, meanwhile, accompanies his friend Kim (Connie Scott) on a fun filled day of swimming and fishing. The day ends on a sad note when a dolphin gets hit with a spear. Even though it is badly hurt, Sandy can’t stand to see it killed, so he brings it home and nurses it back to health. But what will his dad say when he returns?
This is the movie that first introduced us to Flipper. From here, he’d get another movie and his own TV show. It’s interesting to see how things developed from here. Luke Halpin is the only actor to make it to the TV show. Porter Rick was recast, and his mother (yes, he has one here) was completely eliminated. Also, younger brother Bud is no where to be found here.
That aside, how does the film do as a movie? To be honest, it is okay at best. The action is rather slow. Heck, we’re about half way in before Flipper even shows up. The early parts focus on the hurricane and how the community survives. Of course, it doesn’t help that the story is predictable. And the acting is mediocre at best. It gets the job done, but at times it is pretty weak.
I must admit, I was disappointed with this movie. It’s okay, but not nearly as special as I expected it to be.
3 Stars INTERESTING FAMILY MOVIE THAT INSPIRED THE HIT TV SHOW!
I was a fan of the TV show and had not seen the original movie in many years. It’s interesting to see how Sandy and Flipper become close friends in this nice little family movie. Chuck Conners plays ‘Porter Ricks’ in this film, but would be re-cast in the TV series and they would add another son. Another little gem I found in the bargain bin. The DVD transfer looks good.
5 Stars Great family sunday night popcorn film.
Good clean fun. Hollywood has lost the art of film making over the last 40 years. This is an excellent step back in time for film buffs. A great and entertaining film for the whole family. The kids will go to sleep at night dreaming of sunny beaches and friendly animals after watching this, instead of wondering who will survive on “Survivor”, or who’s going to bomb what on “24″. If your wondering what your kids should be watching it is this movie.
5 Stars GrandKids loved it
I had purchased this for my granddaughter who loves dolphins. I remember watching it with my children 30 years ago. All three of my grandchildren loved it as well as the other two I had purchased.

5 Stars This teacher is so knowledgeable
I really enjoyed the poses and the sequence of poses. This teacher really knows what she is talking about and gives you many ways to get deeper into the poses. I highly recommend this dvd.
5 Stars Great for all levels.
This dvd is great for all levels because it gives at least 3 variations for each posture. I love dvds like this because it allows people to see that anyone can practice yoga, not just the ultra flexable people. TAMARA’S YOGA FUSION
5 Stars A must have yoga DVD
Paula is an experienced and knowledgeable teacher. Great instructions and I am motivated to practice as often as I can using this DVD. A great gift to family and friends.
4 Stars good, but not great..
It is a nice, solid but gentle yoga session with a helpful introduction at the beginning. Why didn’t I like it that much? Well, I would have preferred more specific instructions DURING the actual practice, not before it - tips how to hold a specific pose ( how to position my knees, my hips etc. ), what to look for, what mistakes to avoid.. Maybe a quick reminder why a particular pose is good for me.. Without it, it was just another yoga DVD - not bad, but not as great as it could be.
2 Stars Some Problem Points
This video does cover great moves for hip flexibility and it’s most helpful that Tursi has two other practitioners demonstrate various degrees of accomplishment, vs. just stating what a less flexible person than she could do to modify the move. As a Beginner, though, I found the following quite troublesome:
1. Tursi and her two helpers have on black yoga pants which don’t contrast with the dark background, thus making it difficult to see their various leg positions.
2. The music is too close in volume to her voice level (vs. being a lower, background complement), so that when she does explain a position in detail, you have to really listen (or re-listen) to be clear on what part should be where.
So, just a warning to Beginners or maybe even Advanced Beginners (which this video says it’s for), I think these are MAJOR issues to consider before purchasing.

YOUNG WIDOW Naked in the Memorial Playground

YOUNG WIDOW, Naked in the Memorial Playground is a contemporary look at love and untimely loss in death-phobic Western society. Interviews with Young Widows and Widowers, clips, commentaries and plenty of dark humor reveal the challenges and transitions through loss, grief and renewal. Three years in the making, this Documentary trades Widow’s weeds for tattoos, throws out black veils, and invites you to consider death and survival in the vernacular of our times.

4 Stars Great Documentary
Great example of how people view widows in society and the realities we as widows/widowers are faced with. I highly recommend this video for all widows/widowers, their family and friends, and social workers or hospice workers that work with them.
5 Stars Good for the young widow’s soul
This was a perfect choice for me to watch today, on what should have been my husband’s 40th birthday. I’m a relatively fresh widow, and I found the interviews with other widows further out than me helpful. I also found it helpful to see how differently different people coped with their loss. I recommend this DVD to young widows as well as the people around them who want to understand.
5 Stars Incredible Video
This video is a must to give to family and friends of widows/widowers. My mom watched this video and told me it made her realize that grief can still be there for me…even though it’s been six years and I’m remarried.
Wonderfully put together and a terrific insight into both young widowhood and the general public’s reaction to it.
5 Stars WOW! What a Powerful Documentary!
61 Minutes of your life that you should share with a friend. Those who are widowed and those who aren’t because someday- they might be! Saying the right thing, doing the right thing is different for each and every one person. This piece is a beautiful insight into the world of widowhood-male and female- gay and straight.
It should be mandatory for every psych and socio Freshman class in every university and college. Compassionate, caring, gut-wrenching and a real insight into a world that no one ever wants to join.
A great documentary!
5 Stars The Reality of Being a Young Widow
I loved this film. Our society seems to treat young widows as if they are invisible or do not exist. I lost my husband, not my mind, and this film assured me that I’m not crazy, I’m grieving.
