5 Stars Excellent Support Tool
This was just the book I needed to get me started on Weight Watchers again. The fun format and tasty recipes made it well worth the purchase. We even went to the website and wrote all the Points values down for each recipe. A definite must for everyone looking for a little extra help.
3 Stars good recipes, many online
The recipes in the book are good. However, many of them (and more) can be found on the hungry girl website.
4 Stars An excellent addition to my kitchen bookshelf
I find all of the complaint filled reviews to be irritating in the extreme considering people who buy this book already use the website, are familiar with Lisa’s process and philosphy (as well as the schtick). So to those who bought the book and now complain about the short cuts, processed food usage, recipes etc…..GET OVER IT! You knew what you were buying in the beginning, and if the recipes and foods didn’t work for you why did you buy the book? BTW….if you can’t modify a recipe to work for your tastes then you don’t belong in the kitchen so don’t blame Lisa and this book.
Now……..the book is an excellent addition to my kitchen shelves and it far easier for me than carrying the laptop into the kitchen. Yes the recipes use processed foods to save time but I’m an accomplished cook who’s learned how to take a recipe and add/modify then adjust nutrition stats to suit my personal tastes. This is a great source to supplement with, if you’ve got a lick of sense in you. Here’s a clue too folks, recipes flop, no matter what the source so before you start taking to heart too many complaints about the recipes in this book, go to the website, if you haven’t already, and try a few before you buy, then do what normal people do (normal=all those out there who don’t consider themselves to be food experts) and play with them, make notes of what works for you so you can keep track of nutrition stats for the future.
Also, all you “non-processed” foods folks out there….get over it. It’s easy to be self righteous on a computer where noone can see your kitchen pantry and shelves.
I enjoy and use this book regularly and will be buying her new one when it’s released.
1 Star Fake, fake, and more fake
Fake processed foods are not healthy. This book is worse than “The Most Decadent Diet” by Devin Alexander

5 Stars Most inspiration movie in my lifetime
I watched this movie while growing up and it inspired me, purchased it and watched this movie again and would have to say it is the most inspirational movie of my lifetime. The acting by Jennifer Jones is excellent. I recommend it for all ages.
5 Stars The Song of Bernadette
Even though I’m a non-Catholic, I find “The Song of Bernadette” a deeply moving film; it’s one of the treasures of my collection. The film wisely covers all the arguments regarding Bernadette’s visions, the production values are superb and the acting is wonderful throughout, especially Lee J. Cobb as Dr. Dozous, Vincent Price as imperial prosecutor Vital Dutour, and Gladys Cooper as Sister Marie-Therese Vauzous. I am aware that Jennifer Jones won the Academy Award for her work in the title role, but, in my opinion, she plays Bernadette Soubirous as so sweet and wide-eyed that it threatens to make the character a cardboard cut-out. The real Bernadette had a lot more personality in life, and in Franz Werfel’s novel which I also own. In fact, after she joined the convent of the Sisters of Charity of Nevers, Bernadette, who took the name of Sister Marie-Bernarde, was hardly a sad, wistful figure; she was known for her warmth and her sprightly sense of humor. It’s too bad that neither the scriptwriter nor the director saw fit to add those traits to Jennifer Jones’s performance. It would have made her Bernadette a much more-rounded character, and Jones’s overall performance that much better.
5 Stars My review of the DVD “The Song Of Bernadette”.
My review of the DVD “The Song Of Bernadette”.
“The Song Of Bernadette”, Starring: Jennifer Jones, Charles Bickford, Gladys Cooper, William Eythe, Vincent Price, Lee J. Cobb, Anne Revere, and Roman Bohnen is one of the best movies that I have seen on DVD.
Jennifer Jones plays Bernadette an asthmatic 19th-century French girl that sees the Virgin Mary at a grotto in Lourdes. A lot of pressure was put upon Bernadette to not share her visions by powerful people in the community that Bernadette lived in. Every actor and actress in this movie plays their part better than I would have imagined and contributes to making this a great movie.
After you watch this movie you will be convinced that Bernadette is a Saint and you will be glad you watched this movie.
1 Star The Song of Burnadette
Forget about any gore or decent T&A action either. You’ve got about as much chance of finding a polar bear in the Sahara than encountering anything controversial in a made for fanatical Christians film. I could also bring up the horrible quality of the print, or the fact that they couldn’t even seem to find an actress (Jennifer Jones is uninspiring) who could SCREAM convincingly, but alongside the myriad of other faults, these simply pale into insignificance. For being an everlasting waste of time, and not even getting the complete basics right in being a film about a French peasant girl, I can’t give this more than 1/10. Fortunately, unlike poor old Bernadette, you DO have A Place To Hide. It’s called another Feature Film, so why not take refuge there rather than bore yourself to tears with crap like this?
